Elisabeth Joyce, a young Irish historian, arrives in Barcelona on novembre 1905 and she watches the attack made by 200 soldiers, armed with axes, destroying the printing press of the weekly Cu-Cut and the editorial office of the daily La Veu de Catalunya.

Frightened, the young woman watches those events and the political thunder that unchaines confronting the army against pro-Catalonia forces. All militars in Spaingave support to the attackers officers, except one who stppd up against his companions. He is the lieutenant-colonel, head of the Engineers’s Headquarters in Lleida.
