From the budding of the first shoots in spring, to the harvesting of the grapes in autumn and the pruning of the vine stock in winter, “Spanish Wine Cathedrals” looks at the landscapes, architecture and human histories behind wine growing and making. The film focuses on three wine cellars representing three types of wine and three different Spanish territories—the Herederos del Marqués de Riscal bodega in La Rioja, in the Basque Country; Barbadillo Sherry in the Jerez region of Andalusia; and Codorniú Cava from Catalonia.
